INTRODUCTION

Clinical data services store and exchange clinical information on cases. A Linkcare’s case is a reference to an anonymous person. Linkcare maintains a list of associated identifiers that point to one or more health care information systems to retrieve the personal data. However, the personal data itself is not stored in Linkcare, and each user access to such data is retrieved from the related source in real time, passing the user’s credentials for that particular source. Linkcare source references may also include other Linkcare systems. This way, clinical information locally stored in a particular Linkcare instance may be shared with other Linkcare instances.

Associated to each case reference Linkcare stores a series of events, admissions, tasks, forms and documents.
